Tikkun olam (Hebrew: תיקון עולם) is a Hebrew phrase that means “repairing the world.”
The term is used in the Mishnah (2nd century CE) and it refers to the public social legislation that protected the people who were potentially at a disadvantage
In its modern context, Tikkun Olam has come to be associated with social justice work that seeks to bring together a fractured humanity.
In dit kader heeft Gideon zijn steentje bijgedragen door een dag mee te helpen in beth shalom (een joods verpleeg-en verzorgingstehuis in Amsterdam).

Ook heeft Gideon een bijdrage geleverd door het inzamelen van geld o.a. op zijn school, het Amsterdams lyceum, voor de dieren ambulance in Amsterdam
Cadeautip: Gideon spaart voor een Mac computer, type air. Mocht je niet weten wat je Gideon kan geven dan is een bijdrage aan zijn, niet koosjere spaarpot, een cadeau van het AMC bij zijn geboorte, zeer welkom.
Gideon is erg begaan met de mens maar misschien nog wel meer met dieren. Een deel van de opbrengst zal Gideon geven aan
Stichting CHAI, een organisatie in Israel die zit inzet voor “the well being” van dieren in Israel.
